Mt. Orne Covered Bridge Kayak Access Update

July 27, 2024

Access site has been cleaned up!

In early July, the Planning Committee met to discuss a number of topics, including the need for removal of overgrown brush at the Mt. Orne Covered Bridge Kayak Access. Polar Bears President Mike Mutascio was at that meeting and followed up with information that these boat accesses were maintained by the Vermont River Conservancy. The Selectboard contacted VRC to see if this site could get some maintenance. Remy Crettol, Conservationist and Steward from VRC responded, noting that a group of VRC volunteers would be in the area the week of July 15th and would see what could be done. These pictures were taken on July 25th and show what an amazing job the VRC Volunteers did! A great example of how sharing resources can have successful outcomes.
