The Town of Lunenburg is in the process of drafting a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP), as mandated by the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, to be eligible for federal disaster mitigation funding.
A draft of the Plan is now available for community review and comment. The plan aids in identifying threats and hazards such as flooding, winter storms, power failures, pandemics, etc. and then determining mitigation efforts that can aid municipalities in reducing risk and recovery from natural, technological, and human-caused hazards.
Review copies of the Plan are available at the Town Clerk’s Office, 9 W. Main Street in Lunenburg during regular business hours.
You can access a copy of the plan here:

It can also be found on this website under the Services section, Agenda, Minutes & Reports, Selectboard.
Or you can request a review copy via email by contacting Paul Luciano at ophconsultingservices@gmail.com or Gary Briggs at townclerk@lunenburg-gilmanvt.gov.
Comments will be accepted in writing at the Town Clerk’s Office or via email to the above email addresses until Wednesday, May 7th. For questions, please contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 802-892-5959.
